The present petition has been filed inter alia praying for grant of protection of life and liberty of the petitioner at the hands of respondents No. 4 & 5.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has argued that the petitioner came to her parental home on 18.12.2023 to meet her father and while she was there, respondents No. 4 & 5 who are police officials came and started interrogating her, claiming that her husband is involved in some FIR/criminal case. The fact of the matter is that the name/role of the husband of the petitioner is not coming forth in the said FIR, hence, the present petition for protection of life and liberty. 3.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has also argued that respondent No. 4 has threatened that, in case, she does not disclose the whereabouts of her husband, she will be entangled in frivolous cases. 4.

The respondents as police officials are performing their duty and investigating into a matter which is not tantamount as threat to life and liberty. There is nothing coming forth in the present petition that the petitioner is being harassed or has been humiliated except that the respondents No. 4 & 5 are trying to locate the husband of the petitioner and apparently, the petitioner is not cooperating with the authorities. 6.

Merely stating that she will inform them as and when she will come to know about her husband is not sufficient information. It is impossible that a wife could not know the whereabouts of her husband but the present petition seems to be protective in nature qua the accused and hence, I do not find any merit in the same.
