The plaintiff assails the correctness of the order passed by the trial Court directing him to pay the ad valorem court fee of the specific amount i.e. ₹20,00,000/- which was sought to be recovered as damages and compensation for the injury to his reputation. In State of Punjab and Others v. Dev Brat Sharma 2022(2) RCR (Civil) 464, the controversy with regard to the liability to pay the ad valorem court fee on such suit has been finally decided. It has been held that the ad valorem court fee on the specific amount claimed, in the suit is liable to be paid. 2.
