IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA

AT CHANDIGARH CRM-M-3797-2024 Date of Decision: March 05, 2024 ANOOP KUMAR SHARMA ........Petitioner

Versus

STATE OF PUNJAB ........Respondent

CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE HARKESH MANUJA

Present:

Mr. L.S. Sekhon, Advocate for the petitioner. Mr. Kewal Singh, Addl. A.G. Punjab.

**** HARKESH MANUJA, J. (ORAL) By way of this third petition filed under Section 439 CrPC, prayer has been made for grant of regular bail to the petitioner in case bearing FIR No.30 dated 01.03.2021 registered under Sections 22-C, 25 and 29 of NDPS Act (Sections 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B IPC added later on) at P.S. Division No.4, Ludhiana, District Ludhiana.

Learned counsel for the petitioner does not press the present petition.

Dismissed as not pressed.

At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner informs that originally, charges were framed on 12.08.2021 and the reframing of charge was done by the Courts below on 21.03.2023, however, since then not even a single prosecution witness has been examined despite the matter having been adjourned for ten hearings.

In view of the above, considering the custody period of the petitioner besides the snail pace of trial, the trial Court is requested to expedite the proceedings in the trial.
