The petitioner seeks grant of regular bail in respect of a case registered vide FIR No.134, dated 10.10.2019, Police Station Mehta, District Amritsar, under Sections 307, 336, 148, 149 of Indian Penal Code and Sections 25 and 27 of Arms Act.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the matter has been amicably resolved amongst the parties. It has also been submitted that since the petitioner has been behind bars for the last about 2 years, he deserves the concession of bail.

Opposing the petition, learned State counsel has submitted that since the petitioner is a habitual offender and happens to be involved in 19 other cases though in 3 of these he stands acquitted, no case for grant of bail is made out. Having regard to facts and circumstances of the case where the complainant has been inflicted fire-arm injury and while noticing that the petitioner is a habitual offender having been involved in 19 other cases, this Court does not find any ground for grant of bail. The petition is sans merit and is hereby dismissed.
