*** ARUN MONGA, J. (ORAL) Petition was filed in the year 1991, inter alia, disputing the seniority of the petitioner with private respondent No.7 alleging that petitioner ought to have been confirmed as ASI after completion of his 2 years of probationary period w.e.f. 31.03.1982. Petition was admitted to be taken up in regular hearing vide order dated 13.10.1992.

When called out for hearing today, there is no representation on behalf of the petitioner. It seems that by sheer pendency of the writ petition for more than 30 years before this Court, either it has been rendered infructuous or even otherwise the petitioner seems to have lost interest in pursuing the same. Even private respondent No.7 died during pendency of the writ proceedings.

Be that as it may, Writ petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to file an appropriate application in case, any cause of action still survives.
