(ORAL) Petitioner herein inter alia seeks issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari for setting aside the impugned order dated 29.10.2019 (Annexure P-13) passed by respondent No.3-Superintendent Engineer, Public Health Division Jind, vide which his claim for promotion on the post of Pipe Fitter (Grade-II) and further promotion on the post of Pipe Fitter (Grade-I) was rejected for being junior.

On advance service of copy of the petition, learned State counsel appears and submits that during the pendency of the writ proceedings, seniority list has been revised and resultantly, the petitioner's name now figures at Serial No.1 as against earlier being at Serial No.10. 3.

In view of the revised seniority list, the instant proceedings are rendered infructuous and are disposed of accordingly, with liberty to the petitioner to approach this Court, in case his case is not considered for promotion as per the seniority list.

Given that the petitioner has rendered 23 years of service and has been pursuing his cause since the year-2018 when he for the first time submitted a representation for correction of the seniority list, it is expected that the respondents shall consider his claim for promotion as expeditiously as possible, in accordance with law.
