**** SANJAY VASHISTH , J. (Oral) Order dated 25.01.2023 says as under :

"Prayer in the instant petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of directions to respondents No.2 & 3, to provide protection of lives and liberty of the petitioners, who have married against the wishes of private respondents.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioner No.1 - Rani, aged 24 years and petitioner No.2 - Gaurav, aged 25 years, have solemnized marriage on 20.01.2023, against the wishes of their family members, arrayed as respondents No.4 to 7. He further submits that it is the first marriage of both the petitioners, and private respondents are threatening to interfere in the matrimonial life of the petitioners. Hence, the petitioners are seeking protection in that regard and have approached this Court by way of filing the instant petition. They have also submitted a representation dated 21.01.2023 (Annexure P-5), to respondent No.2 - Sr. Superintendent of Police, UT, Chandigarh, wherein, they have expressed their apprehension.

Notice of motion.

On advance notice, Mr. Viranjeet Singh Mahal, Addl. PP, UT Chandigarh, appears and accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3 (UT Chandigarh).

CRWP-721-2023 - 2 - Ld. Addl. PP, UT Chandigarh, points out that the addresses given by the petitioners in the present petition i.e. House No. 24, Khudda Jassu, Chandigarh, is wrong. As per inquiry conducted by the Chandigarh Police, and the statement recorded of the owner of House No.24, Khudda Jassu, Chandigarh, as per which, both the petitioners never resided there.

Photocopy of report dated 25.01.2023, has been produced by Ld. Addl. PP, UT Chandigarh, in Court today, is taken on record, subject to all just exceptions. Office to tag the same at appropriate place.

Faced with the situation, counsel for the petitioners prays for time to get clarification from his clients. Adjourned to 30.01.2023."
