Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of direction to respondents No.1 to 4 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners and further directing respondents No.5 to 12 not to interfere with the liberty and lives of the petitioners, who are living under live-in-relationship or harass them in any manner against their wishes and to their detriment by using force as there is a threat from respondents No.5 to 12.

It has been submitted by learned counsel for the petitioners that petitioner No.1 was forcibly married by her parents earlier. However, after the marriage she was thrown out of the house by her husband and in-laws and thereafter she started living with petitioner No.2 in live-in-relationship. It is further submitted that no child was born out of the wedlock of petitioner No.1 and her husband. It is submitted that both the petitioners are major and MEENU 2025.01.23 09:51 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document are living together against the wishes of respondents No.5 to 12 and have
CRWP-665-2025 -2sought protection to their life and liberty. They apprehend danger from respondents No.5 to 12. The petitioners have submitted a representation, dated 16.01.2025 (Annexure P-3) to respondent No.2. 3.
Notice of motion to respondents no.1 to 3-State only. 4.
On the asking of the Court, Mr.Sumit Jain, Additional Advocate General, Haryana, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents/State.

Without entering upon an exercise to evaluate the evidentiary value of the documents placed on the file, I dispose of the petition with a direction to respondent No.2-Superintendent of Police, Fatehabad, Haryana to decide the representation (Annexure P-3) of the petitioners and grant them protection, if any threat to their life and liberty is perceived. It is clarified that this order shall not be taken to grant immunity to the petitioners from legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by them. This order would not be understood having expressed any opinion whatsoever by this Court on the validity of their live-in-relationship. January 22, 2025 ( RAJESH BHARDWAJ ) meenuss JUDGE 1.
