The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent to release payment with respect to work of construction of LIC Road at Fazilka. 2.
Learned counsel for Municipal Corporation submits that admitted liability would be discharged within two months from today subject to verification.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that respondent may be subjected to interest @ 6% per annum from the date of passing bills.

In the wake of statement of learned State counsel, the petition stands disposed of with direction to release admitted liability within two months from today along with interest @ 6% per annum from the date of passing bills. It is made clear that if payment is not released within aforesaid period, the rate of interest would be 9% from the expiry of said period.
