JASWANT SINGH, J. (ORAL) The two (2) petitioners - Gurnam Singh and Gurmej Singh, are residents of village Saidpura, Tehsil Ajnala, District Amritsar. By filing the instant writ petition, they are seeking a mandamus directing the Department of Rural Development and Panchayat, Punjab, to take a decision upon the resolution dated 20.11.2014 (Annexure P3), passed by their Gram Panchayat, Saidpur, with regard to exchange of RAJ KUMAR ARORA 2019.02.27 17:45 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CWP-2000-2019 land of the Gram Panchayat in unauthorised possession of the petitioners with the alternative land of equal value and utility offered by the petitioners to compensate the Gram Panchayat.
Ms.Anu Pal, learned Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, was directed to seek instructions from the Deputy Director, Rural Development and Panchayat, Punjab.
At the time of hearing, learned State counsel states that vide order dated 26.2.2019, passed by the Government, the resolution has been approved subject to certain terms and conditions. A copy of the order dated 26.2.2019, has been supplied to the counsel for the petitioners today, in the Court itself.
In view of aforesaid developments, no further adjudication is required in the instant writ petition. Disposed of as having rendered infructuous.
