Prayer in the petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to grant the benefit of maternity leave of 180 days with pay/salary along with arrears to the petitioners by treating the leaves as maternity leave, which were availed by them during their maternity period. Notice of motion.

On the asking of this Court, learned State counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State and submits that the proposal to this effect has already been finalized and forwarded by respondent No.3-Director General, Technical Education Department Haryana to the Finance Department and after its materialisation, the benefits would be released to the petitioners accordingly.
