The prayer in the present Civil Writ Petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is to issue a writ in the nature of mandamus, for directing the respondents to grant the petitioners pay scale of Rs.1350-2400 which has been given to 50% of the total posts of Patwaris in the State of Punjab by wrongly designating them as Senior Patwari. 2.

Faced with the fact that there is no representation submitted by the petitioners to the authorities, a pre-requisite to seek a writ of mandamus, learned counsel for the petitioners prays for withdrawal of the petition to first approach the respondents and raise a demand. 3.

Ordered accordingly.
