MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (ORAL) Petitioner is seeking quashing of FIR No.10 dated 27.01.1999 under Sections 326 324 323 452 148 149 of the IPC registered at Police Station Sadar Phagwara, District Kapurthala, and order dated 06.11.2004 (Annexure P-2) passed by the trial Court, whereby he had been declared as proclaimed offender in the above-mentioned FIR, along with consequential proceedings arising therefrom on the basis of compromise dated 06.12.2023 (Annexure P-3) arrived at between the parties.

At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is ready to appear and surrender before the trial Court, and therefore, he be protected till then.

On asking of the Court, Mr. Mohit Kapoor, Additional Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondent No.1.

I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the relevant material on record.

In view of the limited prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the petition is disposed of with direction to the petitioner to appear and surrender before the trial Court within 07 days from today and move appropriate application for grant of bail. Till then, no coercive steps shall be taken against the petitioner. The trial Court, on such application being moved, shall decide it expeditiously, in accordance with the provisions of law.
