Prayer in this writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents to pay the salary to the petitioners for the vacation period and to direct the respondents to grant the pay scale to the petitioners as per UGC Notification dated 28.01.2019 (Annexure P-7). Further a writ of certiorari has been sought, for quashing the practice of the respondents to relieve the petitioners during vacations.

The case has been called twice since morning and despite that there is no representation on behalf of the petitioners. It appears that neither the petitioners nor their counsel is interested in pursuing the present petition.
