The present application has been filed for fixing the main case on an actual date.

Learned counsel for the applicants-petitioners submits that vide order dated 08.02.2024, the present petition was adjourned sine die to be listed after the decision in LPA-518 of 2020 and other connected petitions. 3.

Learned counsel for the applicants-petitioners submits that the said decision has already been rendered by the Division Bench, vide order dated 24.09.2024 (Annexure A-2) hence, the respondents are under obligation to consider the claim of the petitioners as well in terms of the judgment of the Division Bench in LPA-518-2020.

Mr. Arun Gupta, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents and raises no objection for fixing main writ petition at an early actual date. 6.

Keeping in view the joint request of the parties, the present application is allowed and the present petition is listed for hearing today and is taken up for consideration.

Main case 1.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners herein are similary situated as the appellants in LPA No. 518 of 2020 titled as 'Paramjit Singh and others Versus State of Punjab and others,' hence, keeping in view the judgment dated 24.09.2024 of Division Bench, the claim of the petitioners is liable to be considered by the Department by passing appropriate order.

Learned counsel for the respondents submits that the appropriate order on the claim of petitioners will be passed within a period of eight weeks from the date of the receipt of the certified copy of this order and the said order will be passed keeping in mind the judgment of the Division Bench in Paramjit Singh's case (supra).

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that keeping in view the statement of learned State counsel for respondents, the present petition may kindly be disposed of as having been not pressed any further. 4.
