Prayer in this petition filed under article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of directions to respondents no.1 and 4 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and his family from the hands of private respondents. Notice of motion to official respondent no.3 only. Mr. Harsimar Singh Sitta, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondent no.2 and waives service. Given the nature of order this Court proposes to pass, no notice is required to be issued to other respondents. After arguing for some time, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he would be satisfied if the Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, respondent no.3, is directed to decide the representation (Annexure P-2) in a time bound manner. Given above, this petition is partly allowed. Commissioner of Police, respondent no.3 is directed to decide the representation (Annexure P-2) within six weeks from today.

In case the petitioner will be aggrieved by the order so passed by respondent no.3, it shall be open for him to file a fresh petition in accordance with law.
