***** KARAMJIT SINGH , J. (Oral) Case has been heard through video conferencing on account of COVID-19 Pandemic.

The short prayer of the petitioner is that only 15 days time was granted by the Appellate Court to the petitioner to deposit 20% of the cheque amount in the trial Court, while admitting the appeal filed by the petitioner against the judgment and order dated 26.11.2021 passed by the trial Court, whereby he was convicted and sentenced under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act (in short "NI Act").

( 2 ) CRM-M-4739-2022 The grievance of the petitioner is that he was not given requisite time period of 60 days to do the needful as per the provisions of Section 148 of NI Act.

The order whereby the appeal was admitted and time of 15 days was granted to the petitioner to deposit the requisite amount, is dated 24.12.2021.

In view of the above, the present petition is hereby disposed of and the aforesaid time of 15 days is to be considered as 60 days with effect from 24.12.2022 to deposit the 20% of the cheque amount in the trial Court.
