The matter is taken up for hearing through video conference due to COVID-19 situation.

This petition is filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for directions to Senior Superintendent of Police, Moga to take action on the representation dated 27.7.2020 (Annexure P-4) made by the petitioners. Further direction is sought that the petitioners and their family members should not be harassed by calling them to the police station time and again on the pretext of recording statements. The representation has its roots in a matrimonial dispute. However, during the pendency of the representation, the matter was compromised, however cheque dated 13.8.2020 amounting to Rs.29,30,000/- issued as per compromise was dishonoured.    Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that with the dishonouring of the cheque, the representation revived and no action is being taken.

Learned counsel for the State, on instructions from ASILakhwinder Singh, submits that representation of the petitioners is being looked into. She further submits that summons dated 7.1.2021 is with regard to representation made by the private respondent against the petitioners. She also submits that both the representations being inter-related are being looked into and needful would be done as expeditiously as possible.

In view of the statement made by learned counsel for the State, the present petition is disposed of. Let enquiry into the representations be concluded as expeditiously as possible with the co-operation of both the parties.
