Through the instant writ petition, prayer is made for issuance of directions upon the respondent(s) to constitute a Special Investigation Team for conducting investigation in FIR No.145 dated 21.11.2024, under Sections 223(b), 324(5), 326(f) of the B.N.S., 2023, registered at P.S. Sadar Patti, Tarn Taran.

On 10.02.2025, this Court had passed the following order upon the instant writ petition:- "1. The learned State counsel has filed the status report dated 08.02.2025, on affidavit of Kanwalpreet Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub-Division Patti, District Tarn Taran, which is taken on record.

2. List, as prayed for, on 14.02.2025 in the urgent list.

3. On the subsequent date of hearing, the learned State counsel shall, after having instructions from the quarter concerned, inform this Court as to whether the present FIR can be investigated by an S.I.T. to be constituted by the S.S.P. concerned."

In deference to the hereinabove extracted order, today the learned State counsel has filed the affidavit of Ajayraj Singh, PPS, Superintendent of Police (Investigation), District Tarn Taran, which is taken on record. Copy of this affidavit is supplied to the petitioner's counsel also.

The affidavit (supra) reveals that, vide order No.790-93-LITD dated 12.02.2025, a Special Investigation Team has already been constituted by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran. The S.I.T. is headed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), Tarn Taran and the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Division Patti, District Tarn Taran and the Station House Officer, Police Station Sadar Patti, District Tarn Taran are members thereof. 5.

On account of the supervening events (supra), the instant writ petition has become infructuous. Consequently, the instant writ petition is disposed of, as becoming rendered infructuous. (KULDEEP TIWARI) February 14, 2025 JUDGE devinder Whether speaking/reasoned :
