Present writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to produce the entire service record of the petitioner, peruse the same and promote him to the post of Senior Assistant from the date when he became eligible as per Punjab Roadways (Ministerial) State Service Class-III (First Amendment) Rule, 1999. At the outset, learned counsel, on instructions from petitioner submitted that instead of pressing the present petition on merits, he would be satisfied in case the legal notice dated 15.12.2021 (P-3) is decided expeditiously.
