The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent No. 2 to re-issue him passport.

Counsel for the petitioner submits that an FIR No. 103 dated 20.05.2014, under Sections 406 and 498-A of IPC was registered against the petitioner at Police Station City Rupnagar. The petitioner was acquitted in the aforesaid FIR vide order dated 06.03.2019 passed by CJM, Rupnagar. Despite the said fact, the respondent has not issued passport. 3.
