The prayer in the present appeal is to set-aside the judgment of conviction dated 29.04.2009 and order of sentence dated 30.04.2009 passed by learned Special Judge, Sonepat whereby the appellant was convicted and sentenced for the offence punishable under Section 15 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, in the case stemming from FIR No.199 dated 10.10.2007 registered under Section 15 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Sadar Sonepat.

Learned State counsel, on instructions from Inspector Subash Chand, submits that during the pendency of the instant appeal, the appellant had died in the year 2020. Copies of the statement made by Santo and one Jasvir, neighbours of the appellant have been filed in the Court today, which are taken on record as Mark X. Accordingly, the present appeal is disposed of and the proceedings qua the appellant stands abated.
