Vide this petition under Section 438 of Cr.P.C. the petitioner prays for an anticipatory bail in FIR No. 99 dated 28.08.2015, under Section 420 of IPC, registered at Police Station Giddarbaha, District Muktsar.
Upon hearing the learned counsel for the petitioner this court vide order dated 24.02.2021 had stayed the arrest of the petitioner:- The matter has been taken up for hearing through Video Conferencing due to outbreak of COVID-19. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that an amount of Rs.1,96,000/- i.e. 04 installments deposited in the bank account of the petitioner was meant for Parminder Singh and the said amount was withdrawn by the petitioner from his bank account and was handed over to Parminder Singh. Moreover, these transactions were made in the year 2013.

CRM-M No.6050 of 2021 by way of CRM-M-22690-2015, Jatinder Singh Cheema Vs. State of Punjab and others so as to seek protection of his life and liberty, which was disposed of vide order dated 15.07.2015 (Annexure P-3).
Adjourned to 22.04.2021.
State shall file the status report on or before the next date of hearing with a copy to the counsel opposite. In the meanwhile, arrest of the petitioner shall remain stayed till next date of hearing."
Learned State counsel, on the instructions from ASI Gursewak Singh, submits that pursuant to the order dated 24.02.2021 (ibid) the petitioner has since joined the investigation and cooperating with Investigating Agency, he is not required for any further custodial interrogation.
In the wake of the above and as also only the challan has been presented and charges are yet to be framed, there is hardly any possibility of the trial being concluded in the immediate future. Accordingly, the order dated 24.02.2021 is made absolute.
The petition is accordingly disposed of.
