Challenge has been laid to judgment/order dated 16/18.12.1999, passed by learned Additional Sessions Judge, Karnal, whereby the appellant was convicted and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 10 years and to pay a fine of Rs.1,00,000/- and in default of payment of fine, to further undergo RI for 2 1⁄2 years, for the offence punishable under Section 15 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (for short 'the Act'). 2.

Learned counsel for the appellants submits that the sole appellant has since passed away.

In view of the above, appeal stands abated.
