**** HARNARESH SINGH GILL , J. (ORAL) Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. The petitioner seeks regular bail in FIR No. 176 dated 25.7.2020 under Sections 420, 120-B IPC and Section 13 of the Punjab Travel Professionals Act, 2014, registered at Police Station Mehatpur, Jalandhar Rural.

Custody certificate by way of affidavit of Deputy Superintendent, Central Jail, Kapurthala has been filed through e-mail. Copy of the same is taken on record.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the alleged document dated 06.2.2020 has not been signed by the petitioner and he has been falsely involved in the present case and no money has been deposited in the account of the petitioner at any stage. He further submits that the petitioner has never met the complainant.

I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned State counsel.

In the present case, the petitioner has been running the business of tour and travels under the name and style of A&S Happy Tour and Travel Services Private Limited. There are specific allegations against the petitioner that he and other co-accused induced the complainant to pay Rs. 18,00,000/- for sending him Canada on work permit and the said amount was paid by the complainant through cheques but despite that, the accused could not send the complainant to Canada. Thereafter, the complainant demanded for refund of the amount but he was given only Rs. 4.00 lacs. Thus, the petitioner in connivance with other co-accused defrauded the complainant for Rs. 14.00 lacs. The allegations levelled against the petitioner are serious in nature. No ground for grant of bail to the petitioner is made out. The petition is dismissed.
