By way of this Writ Petition the petitioner has prayed for issuance of a Writ in the nature of certiorari for quashing the order dated 25.01.2024 (Annexure P-5) whereby he has been ordered to report to the concerned District Educatiion Officer (SE) from the post of District Education Officer (EE), Jalandhar.

This Court finds that the petitioner is holding a post of substantive Principal and the post of the District Education Officer is a promotional post, and after the DPC made recommendations, the post is being filled from a regularly promoted District Education Officer. The petitioner has not been promoted as District Education Officer, he, therefore, cannot claim continuance on the higher post and has to hand over the charge to the concerned District Education Officer who has been recently promoted on the said post.

In view of the aforesaid observations, no case for interference of this Court is made out and this Writ Petition is dismissed accordingly. 4.

All pending applications shall stand disposed of accordingly.
