(ORAL) Counsel for the petitioners states that petitioners have approached this Court claiming the benefit of arrears of the Leave Travel Concession in view of the order passed by this Court in CWP No.2479 of 2016 titled as 'Sham Singh and others Vs. Punjabi University and another', decided on 26.02.2019, against which Letter Patents Appeal filed by the respondent-Punjabi University, has been withdrawn, wherein employees of respondent-University were held entitled for the benefit of leave travel concession.

Learned counsel for the petitioners further states that though the petitioners in the present writ petition are similarly situated as the petitioners in Sham Singh's case (supra), but they are not being granted the benefit as there is no order in their favour by this Court granting them the benefit.

Learned counsel for the petitioners further states that for the relief, which has been claimed in the present writ petition, petitioners NARESH KUMAR 2020.01.31 14:01 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

CWP-2480-2020 -2have served the respondents with a legal notice dated 28.12.2019 (Annexure P-4) and the petitioners will be satisfied, at this stage, in case a time bound direction is issued to the respondents to decide the same by passing an appropriate speaking order.

Notice of motion.

Keeping in view the advance copy given to the respondents, Ms. Shazia K. Singh, Advocate for Mr. Ajaivir Singh, Advocate, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent(s)-University and she states that the claim of the petitioners will be considered keeping in view the order passed by this Court in Sham Singh's case (supra) and an appropriate order for deciding the legal notice dated 28.12.2019 (Annexure P-4) will be passed within a period of three months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order and in case after the decision it is found that the petitioners are entitled for the benefit, as extended to the petitioners in Sham Singh's case (supra), the benefit to the present petitioners will also be released within a period of three months.

Learned counsel for the petitioners states that keeping in view the statement given by learned counsel for the respondents, he does not wish to press the present writ petition any further and the respondents be directed to comply with the undertaking given before this Court as recorded above.

In view of the above, present writ petition stands disposed of accordingly.
