The petitioner seeks grant of regular bail in a case registered vide FIR No. 140, dated 23.9.2020, Police Station Khem Karan, District Tarn Taran, under Sections 307, 336, 34 IPC and Section 25 of Arms Act.

The FIR was lodged at the instance of Manpreet Kaur wherein it is alleged that when she and other members of her family were attending a marriage on 22.9.2020 at Village Mehndipur, then Aashi, Moti and Bikkar Singh who had been invited by uncle of her husband started dancing. It is alleged that Moti pulled pistol from his waist and fired a shot in the air. Thereafter Ashi tried to snatch pistol for the purpose of firing in the air and there was a scuffle. The uncle of complainant's husband tried to stop them and in the meantime Bikkar Singh pushed him and thereafter Moti fired at Sarabjit Singh uncle of complainant's husband and the said bullet hit the complainant on her right arm.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the FIR came to be lodged under some misunderstanding which has now been resolved and the matter stands compromised.

Opposing the petition, learned State counsel has submitted that since serious allegation has been levelled, no case for grant of bail is made out. It has however, been informed that challan stands presented. 5.

Mr. Narinder Awasthi, Advocate, who is representing the complainant has however, admitted the factum of compromise and has stated that he has no objection for grant of bail.

I have considered rival submissions addressed before this Court. 7.

Having regard to the fact that the matter is stated to have been compromised and challan already stands presented, further detention of the petitioner will not serve any useful purpose. The petition, as such, is accepted and the petitioner is ordered to be released on bail
