Through this writ petition, the petitioner prays for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus to direct the respondent No.2 to approve the recommendation of the Land Acquisition Collector and thereafter, release the payment of compensation for her acquired land. 2.

It has been noticed that the land owners are being forced to come to the Court for release of the compensation for the acquired land. Section 31 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 mandates the Collector to tender the payment of the compensation awarded by him to the persons interested. If the person interested does not come forward to receive the amount, the Collector is required to deposit the amount of the Reference DEEPAK KUMAR BHARDWAJ 2021.10.14 11:16 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Court.

Mr. Narinder Singh Behgal, Assistant Advocate General, Haryana, on the instructions of Mr.Vijay, DRO-cum-LAC, Haryana Urban Development Authority, Gurugram, has submitted that the payment shall be released to the petitioner within a period of two weeks along with the statutory interest.

Since such matters are repeatedly coming to the Courts, therefore, the Chief Secretary, Haryana, is requested to look into the matter lest the Court shall be forced to pass punitive orders. 5.

With the observations made above, the present writ petition is disposed of.
