On 02.02.2024, the following order was passed by this Court:- "Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that mother of the petitioner got divorce from his father and at present her whereabouts are not known. The father of the petitioner is staying out of country and he has applied for passport through his maternal grandfather. The petitioner on the earlier occasion was issued passport and it expired on 18.03.2019. The petitioner has applied for re-issuance of passport. The matter is pending on account of family status of the petitioner. Notice of motion.
Mr. Karan Kumar Jund, Senior Panel Counsel for Union of India, who on advance notice is present in Court, accepts notice and seeks time to address the arguments.

Mr. K.K.Jund, Senior Panel Counsel submits that petitioner may be directed to appear before the passport authority alongwith requisite documents and the passport authority, thereafter, would pass an appropriate order within six weeks.

Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.

In the wake of statement of both sides, the petition stands disposed of with a direction to petitioner to appear before the passport authority on 21.03.2024 alongwith requisite documents. On doing so, the passport authority would pass an appropriate order within six weeks from 21.03.2024.
