Appellant-Darshan Lal Gupta, has preferred the present appeal against the judgment of conviction and order of sentence dated 13.06.2005 passed by the learned Special Judge, Moga, whereby the appellant was convicted and sentenced as under: Sr. No. Offence under Section Imprisonment/ sentence awarded Fine Imprisonment in default of payment of fine 1.

13(2) read with Section 13(1)(e) of Prevention of Corruption Act Rigorous imprisonment for 06 years Rs.1,80,000/- One year rigorous imprisonment 2.

Appeal was admitted as far back as on 17.06.2005. As per the office note, a copy of the order dated 17.11.2022 was forwarded to the office of the Senior Superintendent of Police concerned, and notice was also issued to the appellant. The said notice has been received back with the report that the appellant has already expired. The death certificate dated 24.09.2007 also confirms that the appellant died on 28.07.2007.
