CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RAVI SHANKER JHA, CHIEF JUSTICE HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE ARUN PALLI

Present:

Mr. A.S. Narang, Advocate, for the petitioner.

Mr. Avinit Avasthi, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab. Mr. Nitin Kaushal, Advocate, for respondent No. 3.

* * * * RAVI SHANKER JHA, C.J. (ORAL) When confronted with clause 13 of the prospectus for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses for the session 2021 (Annexure P-4 at page 73), learned counsel for the petitioner submits that she would file an appeal before the appellate-authority i.e. respondent No. 2 - Director Research and Medical Education, Punjab. It is, however, submitted that the appellate-authority may be directed to consider and decide the appeal at an early date as the mop up round of counselling is going on.

Mr. Avinit Avasthi, learned Assistant Advocate General, Punjab submits that in case the appeal is filed by the petitioner today, the appellate-authority would decide it by 25.03.2022 in accordance with law by passing a reasoned order which shall be communicated to the petitioner. In view of the aforesaid submission made by learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the statement of learned State counsel, the writ petition stands disposed of in terms thereof.
