Prayer in the present civil writ petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to grant the benefits of one annual increment for the purpose of pension and pensionary benefits as the petitioners are stated to have completed one full year of satisfactory service. Learned counsel for the petitioners would contend that in this regard a legal notice dated 14.09.2020 (Annexure P-1) has been given to the respondents. However, neither any order has been passed nor any action has been taken on the said legal notice. The counsel for the petitioners would further contend that he limits his prayer in the present petition and would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the respondents to decide his legal notice dated 14.09.2020 (Annexure P-1) by passing a speaking order in a timebound manner. In view of the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioners the present writ petition is disposed off, without commenting upon the merits of the case, with a direction to respondent No.2 to decide the legal notice dated 14.09.2020 (Annexure P-1) in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of one month from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. Disposed off.
