The petitioners seek issuance of a direction to the official respondents to protect their lives and liberty as they apprehend threat to the same at the hands of private respondents No.6 and 7.

It is specifically stated in the aforesaid additional affidavit that representation dated 19.1.2023 has not been received in the office of Station House Officer concerned but inquiry had been conducted as regards the alleged threat perception of the petitioners and during the course of which it had been found that the petitioners are presently in Australia. 4.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that the petitioners are parents of Saganpreet Singh, who was close friend of deceased Sidhu Moose Wala and, as such, the entire family of Saganpreet Singh including the petitioners apprehend threat to their lives and liberty at the hands of enemies of Sidhu Moose Wala. Learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners intend to come back to India on 8.3.2023. 5.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.4 - Senior Superintendent of Police District Fatehgarh Sahib to consider and dispose of any representation in case filed by the petitioners upon their return to India as regards their alleged threat perception. In case, it is found that there is any genuine threat to the lives and liberty of the petitioners, it be ensured that necessary steps warranted under law are taken thereupon, so that no harm is caused to the petitioners.

A copy of this order be sent to respondent No.4 - Senior Superintendent of Police District Fatehgarh Sahib so as to enable him to do the needful expeditiously.
