Pardeep Kumar and Manjun (the petitioners) complain that the Tehsildar-cum-Registrar of Marriages, Sonipat, has wrongly declined to register their marriage, which took place on 09.02.2001. Now, the petitioners are at the matured age of 46 and 37 years, respectively. The order passed by the Registrar of Marriages is appealable under Section 8 of the Haryana Compulsory Registration of Marriages Act, 2008. 2.

The learned counsel representing the petitioners contends that the petitioners attempted to file an appeal, but the Appellate Authority refused to entertain the same. He, in support thereof, has annexed a duly stamped memorandum of appeal as Annexure P3.

Civil Writ Petition No. 2514 of 2022 states that the Appellate Authority will entertain the appeal and decide the same within a period of ten days from the date of its filing. 5.

Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioners to represent the memorandum of appeal (Annexure P3) within a period of seven days, from today, before the Appellate Authority. It is expected that the Appellate Authority shall not dismiss the appeal on the ground of limitation.
