The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of appropriate directions to respondents No. 2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of private respondents No. 4 to 7.

In compliance of order dated 01.02.2024, the petitioners are present in Court today, however, there is no representation on behalf of respondent No. 4.

Learned State counsel has filed the status report by way of an affidavit of Mr. Vijay Pal, HPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Headquarter, Hisar, on behalf of respondent No. 1 to 3 along with the statement of concerned parties including respondent No. 4 who has no objection to the relationship of the petitioners. The same are taken on record, subject to all just exceptions.

More so, the petitioners are present in Court and have stated that they will get married soon but not later than one week from today. 5.

However, learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that in fact, the brother of petitioner No. 1 has also visited the petitioners and there is no threat perception to the petitioners as of now. 6.

In light of the above, no further orders are required to be passed and accordingly, the present petition stands disposed of. 7.

It is made clear that filing or pendency of this petition or any order/direction passed in this petition shall not be an alibi or defence to the petitioners, in case, they are found involved in any illegal activity and the respondent-Authorities shall take appropriate action, in accordance with law.
