The instant writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ in the nature of mandamus for directing respondent No.2 to take action under Section 20 of Punjab Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 against respondent No.5/Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat, Majat, who caused loss of Rs.25.00 lacs to the Gram Panchayat, Majat. during his previous tenure (2013-18) as Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat, Majat. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner, after arguing for some time, prays for withdrawal of the present writ petition with liberty to the petitioner to pursue his election petition, which is stated to be pending before the Election Tribunal.
