   HARNARESH SINGH GILL, J.(Oral) Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No.1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner at the hands of respondent No.4 and his associates.

Short reply by way of affidavit of the Superintendent of Police (Headquarter), District Jalandhar (Rural), filed in the Registry, is taken on record. Alongwith the status report, statement of the petitioner has been annexed as Annexure R-1/T. In his statement, the petitioner stated that he had filed the present petition under some misapprehensions; that he has not been facing any harassment at the hands of respondent No.4 and that he does not want any action in the present criminal writ petition.

At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that grievance of the petitioner stands redressed and, therefore, the petitioner wants to withdraw the present petition.

Dismissed as withdrawn.
