In the present petition, the claim of the petitioner is that he has secured more marks than the last selected candidate and hence, he is entitled for the grant of selection and consequent appointment on Group-D post as advertised by the respondents vide advertisement No. 4/2018 dated 26.08.2018 (Annexure P-1).

Learned counsel for the respondents submits that as per the result of the written examination for the post in question, which has been brought in the Court, wherein it has been mentioned that the last selected candidates in the written examination has secured 64 marks whereas, the petitioner has secured 63 marks for the post in question and the name of the petitioner is kept in the waiting list, hence, the assertion that the petitioner has secured more marks than the last selected candidate for the said post is incorrect.

Faced with this situation, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the present petition may kindly be disposed of having been not pressed any further with liberty to the petitioner to revive the same in case, RIYA 2024.05.02 10:43 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
