Through Video Conferencing JASGURPREET SINGH PURI , J. (Oral) Petitioners claim that they have attained majority and married against the wishes of their family members. Apprehending threat to their life and liberty, they have filed the present petition for protection. Petitioners claim to have submitted a representation (Annexure P-7) dated 09.02.2021 in this regard to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala.

Heard. Record perused.

Notice of motion to the office of Advocate General, Punjab. On asking of the Court, Mr. Venu Gopal Jauhar, Sr. DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the State. Petitioner No.1 has placed on record copy of her marksheet of Fifth Class Examination issued by Punjab School Education Board (Annexure P-1) and petitioner No.2 has placed on record copy of his Aadhar Card and voter card (Annexures P-3 and P-4) respectively as proof of their VIRENDRA SINGH ADHIKARI 2021.02.12 09:45 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRWP-1418-2021 -2age as well as photographs (Annexure P-5) and copy of marriage certificate (Annexure P-6) regarding performance of marriage. Without commenting on the validity of marriage, this petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 - S.H.O., Police Station Jhulka Tehsil Dudan Sadan, District Patiala, that representation, if any, filed seeking protection of life and liberty, be looked into and contents thereof be duly verified and if necessary, requisite steps be taken, strictly in accordance with law for grant of protection of life and liberty to the petitioners. It is made clear that this order does not reflect anything on the validity of the marriage and shall not be treated as a stamp of this Court regarding marriage of the parties.
