SUDIP AHLUWALIA J. (ORAL) Prayer in this Petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C., is for quashing of Complaint No.187, dated 04.08.2014, under Sections 3(1)(x) of the SC & ST Act, 1989 and Section 506 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, along with all consequential proceedings arising therefrom including summoning order dated 20.01.2016 (Annexure P-2), on the basis of compromise.

Now the Complainant has arrived at a settlement with the accused persons vide Compromise (Annexure P-4), which is duly signed by her. The matter was referred to the Court below for recording of statements of the parties and to report with respect to genuineness of the compromise DEEPAK KUMAR 2021.10.04 17:43 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CRM-M-6817-2021 -2arrived at between the parties. The Ld. Addl. District & Sessions Judge, Tarn Taran, vide report dated 22.03.2021 has apprised this Court that the compromise arrived at between the parties is genuine and without any pressure.

Respondents No. 2 is represented by her counsel who does not dispute the factum of compromise.

In view of the report of the Ld. Addl. District & Sessions Judge, Tarn Taran, and in view of the decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in "Gian Singh Vs. State of Punjab and another", 2012(4) RCR (Criminal) 543 and "Narinder Singh and Others Vs. State of Punjab and Another", (2014) 6 SCC 466, this Court is of the opinion that no useful purpose can be served by keeping with the criminal proceedings pending, since the Complainant has herself compromised the dispute with the Petitioner/accused.

In the circumstances, the present petition is allowed. Complaint No.187, dated 04.08.2014, under Sections 3(1)(x) of the SC & ST Act, 1989 and Section 506 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, along with all consequential proceedings arising therefrom including Summoning Order dated 20.01.2016 (Annexure P-2), are hereby quashed qua the present Petitioner.
