This petition has been filed by petitioner Davinder Kumar Gupta, aged about 56 years, son of Sh. Lekh Raj Gupta, resident of House No. 2602, Sucha Singh Street, Mehna Chownk, Bathinda, a complainant in F.I.R No. 184 dated 10.10.2020 under Section 408 IPC registered with Police Station Kotwali, District Bathinda craving for transfer of investigation to some IPS Officer and to conclude the investigation in a time bound manner. The grouse of the complainant is that after registration of the F.I.R investigation is not heading in right way. Notice of motion.

Mr. J.S. Ghumman, DAG, Punjab has accepted notice on behalf of State of Punjab. He on instructions from SI Balwinder Singh has informed that a special investigation team has been constituted to carry out the investigation in this case. This team is being headed by Sh. CRM-M-6622 of 2021 Daljit Singh, SHO Kotwali as its members. He has further contended that the investigation is likely to be concluded promptly. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that he is satisfied with the formation of SIT to carry out the investigation but a direction be issued to such investigating team to complete the investigation within a fixed time frame. Under the circumstances, the present petition is disposed of with a direction that the SIT formed to carry out the investigation in the case would make earnest efforts to complete the investigation promptly and expeditiously preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of this order.
