(Oral) (1) Through this petition a direction is sought to be issued to the Assistant Collector, 1st Grade, Jind to expeditiously adjudicate upon the execution petition dated 26.10.2023 filed by the petitioner seeking therein execution of eviction order dated 16.08.2022 passed by the Assistant Collector, 1st Grade, Jind under Section 7 of the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Act, 1961 (as applicable to the State of Haryana).

(2) Learned State counsel, who appears on advance notice, does not dispute the fact that the execution petition filed by the petitioner is pending adjudication for the last about 11⁄2 years and further states that he has no objection to the acceptance of the afore prayer made by the petitioner.

(3) The petitioner's execution petition, filed by him seeking therein execution of the eviction order dated 16.08.2022, is pending before the Assistant Collector, 1st Grade, Jind since October, 2023. Every litigant has a right to a speedy disposal of the lis initiated by him-her/pending against him/her. A direction to adjudicate upon a lis expeditiously also prejudices none. Rather, a direction issued to decide a lis pending between the parties, at an early stage, is in the interest of both the parties.
