This is the second attempt of the petitioner to seek a regular bail, pending trial in a criminal case arising from FIR No. 18 dated 16.01.2019, registered under Section 302 IPC and Section 25 of the Arms Act, 1959, at Police Station Dera Bassi, District S.A.S. Nagar. 2.

The first petition for grant of regular bail was dismissed on 19.06.2020 after noticing that the deposition of four prosecution witnesses have already been recorded. The learned counsel representing the petitioner contends that thereafter, there has been no progress in the trial of the case. 3.

No doubt, due to outbreak of COVID-19, the Courts were unable to continue with the normal functioning for quite some time. However, now the working of Courts is progressing toward normal.
