SUVIR SEHGAL, J. (Oral) Present petition has been filed by one of the accused under Section 482 of Code of Criminal Procedure for directing the trial Court to expedite the trial in FIR No.60 dated 29.06.2016 (Annexure P-1) registered at Police Station Lambra, District Jalandhar under Sections 307, 148 and 149 of Indian Penal Code, 1860 and Sections 25, 54 of Arms Act, 1959 and Section 21 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. On 06.02.2020, this Court issued notice of motion to respondent no.1 only and directed it to file status report. Status report by way of affidavit of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub-Division Kartarpur, Jalandhar on behalf of respondent No.1, has been filed. The same is taken on record.

CRM-M-5390 of 2020 {2} was registered on 29.06.2016 and the charges were framed on 20.01.2018. In the last two years, only one prosecution witness has been examined. The trial is at its initial stage. It is a fit case where a direction deserves to be issued to the trial Court to expedite and conclude the trial at the earliest. The petition is disposed of.
