The petitioners seek issuance of directions to the official respondents to protect their lives and liberty as they apprehend threat to the same at the hands of private respondents No.4 to 9 against whom petitioner No.1-Jagsir Kumar had lodged an FIR pertaining to the injuries inflicted by some of the private respondents to the petitioners.

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioners and without commenting anything as regards merits of the case or as regards veracity of the averments made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.2 - Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur, District PANKAJ KAKKAR 2023.02.06 16:57 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

( 2 ) CRWP-1072-2023 (O&M) Ferozepur to look into the matter and to get the representation dated 16.12.2022 (Annexure P-5) examined to the limited extent of alleged threat perception of the petitioners and to dispose of the same expeditiously in accordance with law. In case it is found that there is any gunine threat to the life and liberty of the petitioners, then necessary steps as may be warranted under law be taken thereupon at the earliest so as to ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioners.
