This petition has been filed by the petitioner by way of Public Interest Litigation praying that the respondents' authorities should take adequate steps for ensuring the safety of lives of the delivery boys of respondents No.4 and 5 companies and other similar companies who are in the business of supplying/delivering of fast food etc. to the consumers through the delivery boys, as there have been four road accidents causing deaths of delivery boys who have been in hurry to deliver the fast food items to the consumers. The petitioner has also prayed for a direction to respondents No.4 and 5 and other similar situated companies to ensure the payment of adequate compensation to their workers who have died during the last period of seven months.
Apparently, the issue raised by the petitioner is governed by the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act as well as the other provisions of compensation and fair contained therein which can be taken up by the aggrieved persons before the competent forum. () The prayer made by the petitioner for ensuring safety of lives of delivery boys of respondents No.4 and 5 companies is not required to be taken up by this Court as the aggrieved persons would have adequate remedies in that regard against the employers which can be taken up in accordance with law. We do not find any reason to entertain this Public Interest Litigation which is accordingly dismissed.
