(Oral) The present petition is for quashing order dated 25.01.1996 whereby respondents rejected the claim of the petitoiner for promotion to the post of Dy. Supdt of Police w.e.f 03.11.1994. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that vide order dated 28.01.1999, the case of the petitioner was forwarded by D.G.P Haryana for promotion to the rank of D.S.P, Communication. Thus, a presumption at this stage can be drawn that the petitioner might have been promoted and accordingly, the present petition has also also become rendered infructuous. In view of the above factual position, the present petition is dismissed as having been rendered infructuous. However, petitioner is at liberty to revive this order within a period of three months, if any cause of action survives in the present petition.
