ARVIND SINGH SANGWAN J. (Oral) Prayer in this petition is for issuance of direction to official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondents No.4 to 7 and for providing police protection to the petitioners.

Counsel for the State, on instructions from HC Rajbir Singh, submits that the police has recorded the statement of respondents No.4 and 5 i.e. the parents of petitioner No.1 and they have stated that they have no objection to the marriage performed by petitioner No.1 with petitioner No.2. A photocopy of the statement of respondents No.4 and 5 is taken on record as Mark A.
