*** MANOJ BAJAJ, J.(ORAL) By filing the present petition under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the petitioner has sought anticipatory bail in FIR No.58 dated 22.12.2018, under Sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code ('IPC' - for short), registered at Police Station City Nakodar, District Jalandhar.

On 06.02.2019, this Court had passed the following order:- "Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that as per the allegations, the statement of account furnished by the accused for obtaining finance facility for purchase of vehicle was found to be fake.

According to him, the account statement which is allegedly fake does not belong to his account, as the account was opened at Nakodar and the petitioner never utilized the same. It is contended that, it is somebody else, who has purchased the vehicle by misusing the documents in the name of the petitioner.

CRM-M-5629-2019 (O & M) -2In the meanwhile, petitioner shall join the investigation and would come present as and when called for and in the event of arrest, he shall be admitted to interim bail on his furnishing personal and surety bonds to the satisfaction of the Arresting/Investigating Officer. The petitioner shall also abide by the conditions as specified under Section 438 (2) Cr.P.C."

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that in pursuance of the order dated 06.02.2019, the petitioner has joined the investigation. Learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Jeet Singh submits that the petitioner has joined the investigation and he is not required for custodial interrogation.

In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the interim bail granted by this Court vide order dated 06.02.2019, is made absolute.

The petition stands allowed.
